Unless otherwise noted our programs are at Gwynedd Friends Meeting, 202 and Sumneytown Pike, in Gwynedd,  Pennsylvania.

SMALL GROUP  SPIRITUAL NURTURE: THIRD FRIDAYS
BEGINNING OCT 14, 2011 ENDING MAY 11, 2012.
7 – 9 PM (CHANGE IN SCHEDULE!)

Group spiritual direction is a process in which 5-6 people gather in a small group on a monthly basis to assist one another in an ongoing awareness of God in all of life.  Each member of the group seeks support for their responsiveness to God and they agree to support others in responding to God’s work in their lives.

In the midst of busy holiday times come for a day of silent retreat.  We will gather to share our prayers and hopes for the day, then see where the spirit will lead us through journaling, art work, walking, meditation and sitting quietly by ourselves in silence. At the end of the day we will meet to gather the graces.  Bring a journal, sketchbook, needlework, simple crafts, or spiritual readings.  Also bring a bag lunch and snacks to share.  Drinks will be provided

ENVIRONMENTAL DISCUSSION GROUP: TRANSITION TOWNS:  WEDNESDAYS OCT. 5,12, 19, 26 NOV. 2, 9, 16
7:15 – 8:30 PM

ECO Committee of Gwynedd Meeting is offering a discussion group on The Transition Handbook: From Oil Dependency to Local Resilience by Rob Hopkins at Gwynedd Meeting in the library. Transition Town is a revolutionary concept to create community resilience as we together face resource depletion, and now is the time to prepare while creating an exciting new paradigm locally. Locate a copy of the book and read chapters 1 and 2 if you have a chance prior to our first meeting.   The book is available through Chelsea Green publishing, Amazon, Indie book stores, and it has been around for awhile so you may be able to find a used copy, or obtain one from your local library. We will plan to discuss the "Scenarios for Life Beyond the Oil Peak" on pp. 46-47 the first night. During the course, we will use some of the 'tools for transition.' We plan to hold a fish bowl discussion and a world cafe event as part of the course. I hope you can join us.
Childcare provided with advance notice.
