What to do if ICE comes to Gwynedd Meeting
When ICE agents arrive at the door when building is closed to the public:
Step outside and close the door behind you.
Ask to see official identification and a Judicial Warrant signed by a judge that lists the correct address and spaces agents are allowed to go.
Take a picture of the warrant.
Write down the badge numbers and names of ICE agents.
State clearly: “I do not consent to this search.” Then remain silent.
When ICE agents arrive while the Meeting House is open to the public:
-
Agents may only enter public spaces without a Judicial Warrant (see point 2 above.)
-
Do not answer any questions or give the agents any information about yourself or anyone else.
-
State that you choose to remain silent.
-
Do not show the agents any documents or identification or sign anything.
-
Encourage individuals at risk to remain quiet and ask for a lawyer.
Follow up:
Record the encounter—write down everything that was said and done.
Contact legal support immediately.
